Message: Read 2 Corinthians 4:3-8 TLB
Jesus replied, "There are twelve hours of daylight every day, and during every hour of it a man can walk safely and not stumble. Only at night is there danger of a wrong step because of the darkness. John 11:9 & 10
My great-uncle wrote a book about his life experiences growing up on the midwest prairie. His father had come to America, lost his wife and infant son in Chicago, continued by covered wagon to Nebraska with the remaining children and built a dug-out on the side of a hill for them to live in.
Everyone had to work. So as a teenager he worked long days for another farmer and had to start home late in the day on Fridays to have a weekend with his family. There were no roads or fences. His only sense of direction came from the sun. As a consequence, he would lie down on the prairie and sleep until the sun came up.
By the same token, the "glorious light of the Gospel" is what keeps us on the right path lest we go astray.
Prayer: Lord, let your light so shine on us that we do not stumble in our walk with you. Amen.
